Heather Bowen

Heather’s son, Dominic Jr., celebrated his 1st birthday this year. He sure is a wild one and is looking forward to opening his holiday presents!
Jordan Goodman

Jordan had an exciting year! His youngest daughter Mia married Ross in October, and his first granddaughter Olive was born in August. Jordan also crossed off attending an Alabama football game in Tuscaloosa from his bucket list.
Kate Kanabay

One of Kate’s favorite things is turkey dinner and opening gifts with her husband Rob’s family at his childhood home, where his mother still lives. Here are some pics from last year, when Kate’s son Jason was twinning with Rob’s mom, Ardie. Kate’s daughter Allison (left) and Kate’s niece Elise received twinning Nikes as gifts.

You may have seen Nate on WGN News this year! He had a blast participating in a weather promo and meeting Chicago royalty, Tom Skilling.
Yasmine Jadallah

Yasmine’s favorite holiday tradition is getting together with her family for their annual cookie/dessert exchange. They look forward to learning new recipes and tasting new sweets!

Alyssa enjoyed traveling to Europe this year. She visited Mykonos and Santorini in Greece and the Amalfi Coast in Italy!
David Hughes

For Dave and Therese Hughes, it feels like 2001 all over again. After their younger son graduated from high school this past May, Dave and Therese are once again empty nesters. But don’t worry - they all got together in London over Thanksgiving where their eldest son is studying this semester.

Marni adopted her 5-month-old kitten Carl in November! He is named after Marni’s grandfather and is very affectionate and playful.
Jason Klika

Jason is excited to begin his term as 2024 President of the Legal Marketing Association’s Midwest Regional Board. With over 4,000 members spanning the globe, the LMA is the authority for legal marketing, supporting the legal profession with education, advocacy and personal enrichment. In 2023, Jason presented at both the LMA’s Annual National Conference and Midwest Regional Conference.
Jennifer Kuzminski

Jennifer and her family traveled to Iceland this year and saw the Northern lights! In their local area, it is a family tradition to enjoy the holiday season by taking a night-time drive to see the festive lights in Lincolnwood, such as Candy Cane Lane, and Christmas on Cleveland in Wilmette.
Eric Hampton

Eric and his wife and daughter traveled to Morocco this year. The incredible trip was highlighted by reuniting with family, sightseeing, traversing bazaars and riding camels on the beach. This picture was taken at Cap Spartel – where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea.
Brooke Blankenship

One of Brooke’s favorite traditions is snuggling on the couch with her cat Denny and watching holiday movies!
Kristen Toth

Kristen adopted two 3-year-old brown tabby cats from her local Humane Society this year! They are thought to be brothers. Here Pancake and Waffle are cuddled up on the couch. They love to wrestle with each other and snuggle together.

Holiday Cheer Week

Holiday Cheer Week is a cherished tradition at HMB, where each December, we champion the spirit of giving and unity to welcome the festive season. This year's festivities featured a door decorating contest, a delicious hot cocoa bar, an Ugly Sweater Day and a fierce baking contest.

The pinnacle of the week was the eagerly anticipated "Favorite Things" raffle. Our attorneys and leadership team generously contributed items representing their personal favorites, creating a delightful array of prizes for HMB’s professional staff. This year's assortment of favorite things included Bears and Cubs tickets, lottery tickets, wine-of-the-month subscriptions, pottery and culinary classes, and an array of other enticing surprises. Everyone’s enthusiasm and festive spirit made this year's Holiday Cheer Week truly unforgettable!

2023 Firm Moments

Galentine's Day Happy Hour: Wills & Trusts Edition

In February, Partner Jennifer Kuzminski hosted a Trusts & Estates trivia night for women in Park Ridge. The event was a fun and engaging way for Park Ridge residents to learn more about estate planning.
Race Day

HMB hosted its second annual “Race Day” at GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, MI. It was a wonderful event full of fast cars and great friends. Our Partner, Sean Auton, is looking forward to hitting the track again with everyone soon.

HMB’s Marketing Team attended the Legal Marketing Association’s (LMA) Midwest Regional Conference in Chicago. They attended lectures on developments in AI, Client Experience, branding and more.
Blaise & Claudia Pass the Bar

In October, HMB’s new associates and former law clerks, Blaise and Claudia passed the Illinois Bar exam. Congratulations on your accomplishment!
Halloween Happy Hour

HMB held a spooky Halloween Happy Hour that included amazing treats, made by Legal Admin Delores Joubert, as well as free massages and plenty of spirits!
MJBizCon

In November, HMB’s Cannabis team attended MJBizCon, the industry’s largest event, in Las Vegas. Our team hosted a cocktail party for clients and friends.
Associates' Holiday Outing

Our associates gathered for their annual holiday outing at Quartino for pizza and wine!
Secret Santa Benefiting Parker Child Parent Center

This is HMB’s ninth year participated in a Secret Santa initiative for the Parker Child Parnet Center in Chicago. Led by Kliner Jackson, this year HMB helped spread holiday joy to over 50 children between the ages of 3 and 5. We are proud of Kliner and the entire HMB team!
